Venue: Petőfi Literary Museum (16 Károlyi utca, Budapest 1053). The studies in the volume present the work of Agota Kristof, an outstanding author of contemporary world literature, using the latest findings in literary studies to present to the scientific community and a wider readership: how a writer from a small Hungarian border town became world-famous, and how her life's work, rooted in multiple cultures, languages, and identities, fits into Hungarian literature. The volume was published by Gondolat Publishing House and the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg (iASK). It was edited by Sarolta Deczki and Ágnes Kovács. The cover was designed by graphic artist András Tellinger. The table of contents can be downloaded at:
https://iti.abtk.hu/images/AgotaKristof_kotet_tartalom.pdf After the book launch, the audience can listen to a lecture by Zsolt Prieger and Laura Döbrösi entitled Horrornapló. A Journey from Kristóf Ágota to Agota Kristof. Agota Kristof is an internationally renowned, mysterious, yet undeservedly marginalized writer who is a star in the world, yet Hungarian readers know nothing about her except for Le Grand Cahier. Yet her life's work is a thriller-filled history, goose bumps and passion, a Hungarian Odyssey reflecting on our past and present. Horror Diary is a performance by Laura Döbrösi and Zsolt Prieger that is full of excitement and personal commentary, and even intimacy.
