Concert information
Vivaldi is so popular that, following the success of The Four Seasons last year, he will feature in the program again this year. La Follia (The Madman) is one of the oldest European musical themes and has been turning the heads of listeners for centuries. Let's dive into the depths of our culture and discover the treasures hidden there! It was exactly 150 years ago that Bizet's masterpiece Carmen was first performed. I will play a selection of themes from the opera. Habanera, Hej Torreador! Each one is more beautiful than the last. Unfortunately, at the end of his troubled life, Bizet did not live to see his music soar to the stars. It's an interesting story, I'll tell you about it. Based on Bach's great Fantasy and Fugue in G minor, it may only make the hearts of the biggest fans beat faster, but listening to this perfect masterpiece will turn even those who previously only knew Bach's name because they heard it from a bunch of cool friends. I recorded it 10 years ago for my BACH album, and in recent weeks I've been wondering if I could take it to a new level. But I have to admit, I've come to the conclusion that I don't need to. If I play it the way I did then, everyone will hear what I expressed in the arrangement at the time, then it will be worth coming to more concerts (or buying the album) because I guarantee that even experts won't notice everything on first listening. Don't get me wrong, it's not my greatness, but that of the composer. I myself just boldly show them. In such cases, I say, "I have an organ and I'm not afraid to use it!" I was wondering whether to release the love album that has been in the works for a long time.
We've been working on it since 2018, polishing it, making it more and more beautiful, but in the meantime, the CD era has come to an end. Finally—Oh, hubris—I loved it so much that it will be released in a limited edition. I play the heart-wrenching aria from Bellini's opera Norma, Norma, and Debussy's Clair de Lune. We will cry, but don't worry, dear listener, not all tears are bitter! Especially not the tears of catharsis and beauty! We will strike the air with a cry of "THIS IS IT!" and feel ourselves as one with every breath, so deep is the ocean of our joy. All in all, I bring along the usual profile of the Lords of the Organ series. Varied music, power and humility, depths and heights, all in a spectacular concert format, complementing the music with impressive artistic graphics, as the concert, like Vivaldi, not only serves but also to shape the audience's perception! Let's experience it together!
