Lights and Shadows – Exhibition by Painter Andrea Pók

Light and shadow are not merely optical phenomena; they are fundamental patterns of our everyday existence. As thinking human beings, we all live within this duality, carrying both the clear light of understanding and the quiet shadows of doubt. Neither can exist without the other—the shadow defines the strength of the light, while the light gives meaning to the shadow.

This exhibition is an imprint of an inner search for balance. Alongside the bold textures of oil and acrylic paintings, the delicate beauty of silk also takes center stage. The soft, flowing tones of silk painting capture moments of clarity and serenity, while the artist's batik works—stretching beyond traditional textile dyeing through the use of stretched fabric layered with hot wax—reflect the depth of lived experiences and the unpredictable turns of life. These canvases and silks are inner landscapes that come to life anew through the gaze of each viewer.
